MFH Diplomas (Level 5)


Course at a glance:

MFH has a range of introductory qualifications as part of the NZDipBus 2-year programme. These Level 5 qualifications are all 1-year programmes. They recognise general business skills, knowledge and competence for people to undertake business operations working under supervision. Students normally complete Level 5 and then progress to the NZDipBus Level 6.

Entry criteria:
  • International students are preferred to have an IELTS 6.0 (Academic) with no individual band lower than 5.5, TOEFL 525 or equivalent.
  • We will assess student's English proficiency for those students who have IELTS 5.5. They will need to pass the MFH internal English entry test and complete the Academic Skills Workshops (free) as part of tuition.
  • Domestic applicants under 20 years of age must have a minimum of: 50 credits at level 2 or above NCEA with at least 12 credits in each of three subjects, including a minimum of 8 literacy credits at level 2 or equivalent.

Study pathways:

  • gain direct entry to NZDB Level 6 - fundamental business diploma study
  • gain up to 120 credits toward NZDB Level 6 (half way, one more year to complete NZDB)
  • eligible to work part-time up to 20 hours per week while studying
  • gain 40 points under the Immigration Skilled Migrant category




Career opportunities:

MFH Level 5 Diplomas offer a range of career opportunities within the business sector. Positions may include - Office Assistant, Supervisor, Shift Manager, Group Leader and Accounts Assistant.



Immigration NZ permission:

International students are required to hold a valid INZ Student visa/permit. Students will be:
  • eligible to work part-time up to 20 hours per week while studying; and
  • able to gain 40 points under the Immigration Skilled Migrant category
